ASCIT April 2023 Bylaw Amendments

The Board of Directors is proposing three amendments pertaining to the offices of The BoC, The California Tech and The Student Activity Fee. The Board of Control Amendment will replace components of the text of Article VII and XIII in order to expand the number of possible acting secretaries from two to a maximum of four. The California Tech Amendment will replace language and add text to Article IX and Article X that will preserve the current fiscal scheme, create a more flexible publication schedule, and outline a set of measures for annual expenditures by the publication. The Student Activity Fee Amendment will edit the text of Article IX to increase the fee by $7.00 per term. ASCIT Article XIV Bylaw Amendment Election

This Amendment will replace the entire text of Article XIV--Conduct Review Committee with a new Article describing the functioning of the CRC. This update includes what the CRC is, the complete details of the CRC process, respondent rights and responsibilities, and other fundamental information not currently present in the Bylaws. It brings the Bylaws in line with current CRC proceedings but does not intend to change those proceedings. This amendment was written based on existing CRC and Honor Code documents. Vote on Amendments to ASCIT Bylaws 2022

The Board of Directors has proposed 3 amendments to Article IX: Fiscal section of our Bylaws, These respectively deal with adding in details of a fiscal MoU signed between ASCIT and Caltech, amending the value of dues, and bringing financial logistics closer to current practices. The exact changes are here: https://donut.caltech.edu/lib/ASCIT_Bylaws_Amendments_March_2022_Election This vote is being run pursuant to Article XV: Amendments of our current Bylaws, so a 2/3rd majority is needed for passage of each of these amendments. A "Yes" is a vote for the passage of an amendment.
